welcome

I thought I should tell you a little about myself and family. Well I grew up in a small town in NSW Australia. My mother and father were both Professional Game Meat Harvesters(Shooters) at the time and still are to this day. I remember the massive loads of 40 plus wild pigs Dad use to get a night during certain parts of the year, though this was some years ago. Now days on average in most areas in NSW and QLD you would be lucky to get 5-10 pigs a night or none at all. Of course you do get your lucky days.

My father John Farr is still a Game Meat Harvester and also works for the biggest Game Meat company in Australia; Wild Game Resources as the NSW Field Manager. He is also the President of the NSW Kangaroo Harvesters Association;  let's just say he knows his game. He is also the best shot I have seen yet, he shot a pig on the run with one of my dogs just a few feet away from lugging up to it. (scared the sh%t out of me and my dog) you can see this in footage in our pig hunting DVD Bristle Busters 2.

My Mother Allyson Russell is also still a Professional Game Meat Harvester in south QLD and lives and works on a cattle farm with her new partner Cameron Foat. My Parents broke up some years ago but have both since moved on. My Brother Luke Farr is a Professional Harvester as well and owns the Taxi Service in Walgett NSW; he loves hunting feral pigs though he is now settled down with 3 kids.

What about me, well I didn't go the whole yard on the Game Meat thing I decided that I enjoyed hunting pigs with dogs more than shooting game (Kangaroos etc) to sell in the game meat trade. I first started going out hunting by myself when I was about 14 years old in Westmar in South East QLD. I would get on the quad bike with my old bitch Keira (who is 10 years old now ) and head out pigging on the farm catching mostly around 3 an afternoon after school. After sometime I managed to save up and buy a video camera and that's when I first started filming the pigs we were catching. I never intended on making it into a DVD but me being the only computer wiz in the family I was fascinated by filming stuff and editing it on the computer. When I was 17 I finished my first pig hunting DVD which got the name Bristle Busters.

Well now after a few years of working hard and learning that video cameras don't like water and other things like wheels I have final released a new pig hunting DVD in 2010 Bristle Busters 2 which is an improvement on my first and I plan on making many more in the time to come. I'll give you a run down on my life at the moment and what I get up to; well a lot of the time I spend driving tractors Tilling, sowing and harvesting etc and I also spend a lot of time repairing computers and setting up websites you know nerdy stuff (a wearied mix I'm told). Then comes the weekends which I try to dedicate to Pig Hunting and getting footage together to make DVD's, which turns out to be quite hard because it's very easy to miss the best bits in all the commotion. Well that's about it in a nut shell I could spend all day telling you stories but I think by this time you've probably done enough reading for today and I better get back to work any way's. Have a good one peoples and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just feel like a yarn. Laters...

Cheers
